The IICRC Health and Safety Technician class (HST) is a two-day class that covers the fundamentals of health of safety including regulatory compliance and hazard assessments and the hierarchy of controls, personal protective equipment and many other topics.

The required safety plans for restorers and cleaners:

  • Written HAZCOM
  • Written respirator program
  • exposure control plan
  • Emergency Response Plan
  • Fire Protection Plan
  • PPE Plan

About the speaker

James (Lee) Senter began his career as a carpet cleaner in 1978. He has done all the dirty work from sewer back-ups, to mould remediation to trauma scene clean-ups. 

Lee has also become sick from these same issues. As a result Lee became a leader in the development and promotion of green cleaning technologies. This spawned a career in health and safety. 

Lee has gone from teaching chemical safety to creating the first IICRC class on health and safety philosophy to being the Chairperson of the IICRC Safety and Health Field Guides.

Lee also teaches IICRC water damage and cleaning classes. He is the President of the CFCRA and CEO of Dry-It Corp and Fresh and Clean Carpet Cleaning.
