Patrick DaSilva of Excel Honored with the 2026 Dick Bernson Award at the MCRA 50th Anniversary Regional Meeting
The MidSouth Cleaning and Restoration Association (MCRA) proudly announces Patrick DaSilva of Excel Cleaning and Restoration Supplies as the recipient of the prestigious 2026 Dick Bernson Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to MCRA and the cleaning and restoration industry. “Receiving the Bernson award during the 50th anniversary of this incredible association is truly humbling. To be recognized by an organization built by pioneers, sustained by leaders, and carried forward by people who care deeply about the cleaning and restoration industry means more to me than I can express. This award isn’t just a reflection of one person’s work, it represents the mentors who shared their wisdom, the colleagues who pushed standards higher, and the legacy members who built the foundation we all stand on today,” Patrick said.
The Dick Bernson Award is the highest honor the association bestows and highlights those who have dedicated themselves to advancing the industry. Named in honor of the founding president of MCRA, the Dick Bernson Award celebrates individuals whose leadership, professional excellence, and dedication have significantly advanced the science and professionalism of the cleaning and restoration industry, as well as the mission of the Midsouth Cleaning and Restoration Association. Bernson’s legacy includes establishing the MidSouth Professional Cleaners Association in 1976 and fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and professionalism that continues today.

MidSouth Cleaning and Restoration Association Marks 50 Years of Industry Leadership
50 Years of Midsouth: A Legacy of Service, Mentorship, and Integrity
MidSouth Cleaning and Restoration Association (MCRA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary, commemorating five decades of service to the cleaning and restoration industries across the Southeast.
Founded in 1976 as the Mid-South Professional Cleaners Association, MCRA was established to promote education, ethical standards, and collaboration among industry professionals. Midsouth is also one of the founding shareholders of IICRC. Over the years, the Association has evolved alongside the industry, expanding its mission to equally represent both cleaning and restoration specialists and officially rebranding as MCRA in 2023.
MCRA will recognize its anniversary at the March 12-13 Regional Meeting in Greensboro, NC, with special programming, member spotlights, and historical reflections, and honoring the individuals and milestones that shaped the Association’s legacy. As it looks to the future, MCRA remains dedicated to supporting education, leadership development, and a strong professional community for cleaning and restoration professionals throughout the MidSouth region.
